UU Midwinter Retreat 2025

Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, 2025 at Cedar Glen

Our registration table opens at 5:00 pm in the Main Lodge, with pizza served at 6:30 pm in the Lounge, followed by an Ingathering (and of course euchre - or drumming.) 

 

WHAT TO BRING:


·        Cedar Glen supplies bedding, sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels. They do not supply washcloths or soap/body wash. Each bedroom has two bunk beds and a private washroom with shower.
·        Some people like to bring an extra blanket, or a foam mat of some sort to put on top of the mattress
·        Indoor shoes or slippers - will be needed in all indoor spaces
·        Warm outdoor clothing (layers) and warm boots for outdoor activities
·        Musical instruments
·        Cards/games – Euchre is a much loved game at Midwinter
·        Wine or beer for Friday night, if you wish.  Wine will be provided with dinner on Saturday
·        Cedar Glen provides snowshoes and toboggans when they lead these activities

 

CEDAR GLEN POLICIES:

Cedar Glen and the Midwinter Committee request that if anyone is sick, they do not attend.  If anyone tests positive for COVID-19 while they are at Cedar Glen, we would ask they leave the site as soon as it is possible (and isolate while still onsite).  In the vast majority of cases refunds can be arranged in cases of illness; HOWEVER we need to know this as soon as possible on or before your planned arrival date.  Call or email Helen Iacovino, Registrar for the Midwinter Committee, at 647-637-1868 or hiacovino9@gmail.com 

 

1 - Unless part of our programming, participants are requested not to wander the grounds (trails) without a visitor's pass. Passes are readily available from the Cedar Glen office.

2 - Cedar Glen is not responsible for lost or stolen property, or damage to vehicles or their contents.

3 - Parking is available near Summit Hall (previously called Lawson.)

4 - Pets are not permitted in any building or on grounds.

5 - Bedrooms have individual heat controls on the outside wall near the window (at eye-level).

6 - Cedar Glen is a non-smoking, nut aware facility.  Please refrain from using any products containing nuts.

7 - All snacks will be in the Summit foyer and near meeting rooms, and all meals will be in the Dining Hall, except for Friday night pizza/salad which is in the Lounge.

Meal Times: Breakfast 8:00-9:00 am      Lunch 12:45 - 1:30 pm  Dinner 6:15 - 7:00 pm

8 - Please do not bring food into your bedroom.  All meals and snacks are provided.

9 - Please leave the food which is marked “vegetarian” for the vegetarians.

10 - Alcohol - We have purchased a Liquor Permit for Friday and Saturday nights.  Wine is provided for dinner on Saturday; you can bring your own on Friday. Alcohol is also allowed in your room.

11 - Checkout time on Sunday is 9:00 am – i.e. after breakfast.  Thank you for vacating bedrooms before the Sunday service.  Luggage can be stored in your group’s meeting room.

12 - Please be sure to return your room key to the basket on our registration table in Summit/, or alternately to the Cedar Glen office in the Main Lodge, as there is a $50 charge for replacement.

Wifi is available in the Main Lodge and Summit auditorium. Login information is available at the main office.
